Description

Jacquard Cyanotype Part A Solution Potassium Ferricyanide 8oz is one of the two essential chemicals used in the traditional cyanotype printing process. Potassium Ferricyanide is a red iron salt that works in combination with Ferric Ammonium Citrate to create a light-sensitive solution used for producing cyanotype prints.

Cyanotype is one of the earliest photographic printing techniques, known for producing rich Prussian blue images through exposure to ultraviolet light or sunlight. When mixed with Part B solution and applied to absorbent surfaces, the sensitised material reacts to UV exposure, producing the distinctive deep blue prints after rinsing in water.

This process can be used on many natural and porous materials such as paper, cotton, linen, silk, canvas, wood and leather, making it popular with photographers, printmakers, textile artists and mixed media creators.

Jacquard Cyanotype chemistry allows artists to create detailed photograms or photographic prints by placing objects, negatives or stencils on a coated surface and exposing it to sunlight. The result is a striking monochromatic blue image that captures the subtle details of shadows and textures.
