Description
An excellent general purpose clay for school and hobby use, as well as for professional and experienced potters. It is grogged with 10% extra sand, added to give a slight "tooth". This makes it the perfect choice for body or hand building, throwing, modelling, coiling and tile making, yet still hard enough to retain shape for stacking and storing. As a dual-purpose clay, it can be used for making both earthenware and stoneware pottery. The difference lies in the way this is biscuit fired.
- Firing range - 1120°C -1240°C.
- Shrinkage (w-f) 12% at 1200°C.
- 0.32% expansion at 500°C.
- Texture (1-smooth 10 coarse) 6.
- Fired colour: Warm Buff / Grey.
