BATIK WAX PELLETS 500g

Batik wax is the vital ingredient in the 'resist' technique for producing designs and patterns on fabric. The wax pellets are melted(melting point approximately 60°C) and then applied to the fabric with a brush, tjanting tool or stamp, before dyeing, to keep the color from reaching the fibres and to prevent dye from penetrating the fabric. Once the fabric is dyed, the wax is removed.
Blue Acorn batik wax pellets are a 75/25 blend of paraffin and beeswax. The melted wax has better adhesion to fabric and due to the paraffin/beeswax mix, is less brittle than paraffin alone and easier to remove from the fabric than pure beeswax. This blend also allows for more controlled cracking effects and has an excellent melting time and flow making it ideal for use with tjanting tools.
