Jacquard SolarFast Dye 236ml (8oz) is a unique sunlight-developing dye that allows artists to create permanent photographic images, photograms and stencil designs using sunlight or ultraviolet light. Unlike traditional dyes that require heat or chemical fixing, SolarFast dye develops colour through exposure to light, making it ideal for creative sun-printing techniques.

The dye can be applied directly to natural fabrics such as cotton, linen, canvas and other natural fibres, as well as paper and untreated wood. Once the dye is applied and exposed to sunlight, areas exposed to light develop colour while areas blocked by objects or negatives remain lighter, allowing artists to create striking photographic images and patterns.

SolarFast dyes can be used with hand-drawn stencils, photographic negatives, plants, objects or other materials to create detailed designs. After exposure, the print is developed and washed with SolarFast Wash to remove undeveloped dye and reveal the final image.
