JACQUARD SOLARFAST DYE 236ml - PACK OF 12

Jacquard SolarFast Dye 236ml – Pack of 12 is a unique UV-activated dye that develops colour and becomes permanent when exposed to sunlight. It provides an exciting way to produce highly detailed photographs, photograms and shadow prints directly onto fabric or paper.

To create a photogram, apply SolarFast to the surface using a brush, sponge, brayer or squeegee, then position objects such as leaves, lace, tools or other shapes over the coated area. When exposed to sunlight, the uncovered areas develop while anything blocking the UV light creates a printed impression. Film negatives can also be used to produce permanent photographic images on paper or fabric.

SolarFast is exceptionally versatile and can also be used for painting, tie dyeing, screen printing, stamping and batik. No heat setting, chemical fixing or steam fixing is required. On fabric, the dye leaves the material soft to the touch, while on paper it creates no surface relief, making it particularly useful for mixed-media artwork.

Suitable surfaces include a wide variety of natural fibres and materials, including cotton, linen, canvas, silk, hemp, wood and rag papers. Finished prints are washable and lightfast when processed correctly.

The bulk pack of 12 x 236ml bottles is particularly suited to schools, colleges, universities, textile departments, printmaking studios and group workshops where larger quantities of dye are required.
