Welcome to the summer edition of our Abacus Creative Resources newsletter.

Let me ‘re-introduce’ ourselves if you’re new around here. Abacus Creative Resources is a 3rd generation, family run business and is the ‘one stop shop’ for all things creative in education and retail! We offer next day delivery on items that are in stock, as standard! We personalise – get your logo embossed onto sketchbooks or embroidered onto aprons. Stock up with everything from paint to your larger studio items such as sewing machines and drying racks. Service is key to everything we do here, if there is anything you are ever unsure about, there is always a friendly member of the team at the end of the phone or email.

This edition marks the beginning of the most exciting and busiest time of year, as it is Creative Kits season. Our bespoke creative kit service helps students and teachers get the best possible start for the academic year ahead, our kits are the hassle-free way to equip your students. Each kit contains quality creative materials as standard, customised to suit your specific course needs. After the success of last year, we will be continuing the great initiative with Forest Carbon where purchasing our kits will contribute to the planting of new trees throughout the UK. A fade-proof and water-resistant pigment ink fine line pen, the uni-ball PIN is often the first choice for artists and designers. The 0.5 nib is robust and strong, making it perfect for outlines and clean graphic sketches. There is wide choice of nib sizes, allowing you to create crisp, clear lines and perfect techniques such as stippling, cross-hatching and shading.

You may have noticed that we have expanded our product range! We have recently launched our Abacus Creative Essentials Drawing ink, Acrylic Sheets and a rebrand of our fineliners to be brought in-line with the rest of our Blue Acorn range.

Abacus Creative Essentials drawing inks are highly pigmented and vibrant and ready for immediate use. All colours are intermixable to create a vast spectrum of shades and the opacity can be reduced by diluting with water. The colours dry smoothly within minutes. Different techniques can be used on a variety of surfaces, to create fine lines or colouring large washes, using brushes, calligraphy nibs, airbrushes, bamboo pens and more.

One main benefit of Abacus Creative Essentials drawing ink is that they are bleachable. Many different techniques and art styles can be used and created when combining ink with bleach.

Acrylic Sheets often referred to ‘Perspex or ‘Plastic’, these acrylic sheets are ideal for Fine Art, Jewellery, Model – Making and many more Design Technology projects. Available in a range of sizes and colours.

We’re excited to announce that in the next coming weeks we will be launching our online loyalty scheme!
