Here at Abacus Creative Resources, we want to be the “one stop shop” for creative people and we are very excited to be showcasing the water-soluble colour pencils from our own Blue Acorn range. 

Blue Acorn Aquarelle pencils are lovely rich, vibrant water-soluble coloured pencils with evenly dispersed pigments and good colour permanency in a round cedar barrel. 

Manufactured with highly concentrated pigments and bleached kaolin which is a white clay of the highest purity. This used along with other binders to achieve a unique stroke on paper or any other medium. The colours have excellent durability, blend ability and lightfastness and are extremely soluble which means an aquarelle technique can be achieved with just few drops of water.

The leads provide longevity and excellent value for money and the wood pencil casing ensures easy sharpening.

Blue Acorn’s Creative Evolution: Expanding our Range

When it comes to unleashing your creativity, the right tools can make all the difference. We have expanded our stretched canvas range to now include circle and oval canvases, in a range of sizes. Our 100% cotton, 10oz medium-grain canvas is triple-primed for minimal colour shift and superb adhesion. These archival-quality canvases suit oil and acrylic paints, and they're expertly handcrafted with kiln-dried stretcher frames. 

Our much-loved bestselling deluxe canvas apron is now available in a new colour, Navy! Building on our apron range and listening to our customers, Blue Acorn are also now stocking an 'orthopedic' friendly apron that uses a simple eyelet system and two supportive straps that don't pull on your neck, reducing fatigue and increasing comfort.

If that wasn’t enough we are delighted to showcase are brand new 100% Cotton Canvas Sheets to the Blue Acorn range, available in A4 and A3 pads. Triple primed 250gsm sheets, suitable for use with acrylics, oils, mixed media, inks, watercolours and gouache. Certified acid free for longevity.

Plus we have added a third weight of cotton canvas to our extensive Blue Acorn range. This time it is an intriguing 12oz 'Duck' unprimed canvas on either 5m or 25m rolls, width of 183cm. Our heaviest weight, premium canvas, is made using 100% cotton duck material and the braided yarns are tightly-woven into a "half-panama" pattern for a more pronounced tooth. The heavier weight creates a consistent and uniform weave and an enhanced stability & support, unseen in standard canvas.

Abacus Creative Resources are proud to introduce a brand new range of glue which falls under our own Essentials range.

We now stock a Premium quality Washable PVA for bonding wood, cardboard, paper and other absorbent surfaces. Dries to a waterproof translucent film. Smooth, creamy consistency. Containing 20% solids in 180ml, 500ml and 5L.

A versatile General Purpose PVA: Strong, Clear, Fast-drying, Water-resistant. Perfect for crafts, woodworking, repairs, containing 32% solids. Available in 180ml, 500ml and 5L.

Plus a Wood PVA Adhesive: Strong Bond for Woodworking. Fast-drying, Water-resistant. Ideal for Crafts and Repairs. Containing 51% solids, available in 500ml and 5L.
