Celebrating Creativity in Warrington & Cheshire Region
Abacus Creative Resources supporting young people
Cheshire & Warrington Skills Art Competition
Abacus Creative Resources were delighted to get involved with the Cheshire & Warrington Skills Art Competition. Warrington & Vale Royal College proudly hosted students from Macclesfield College and South Cheshire College to compete in the art competition.
The Art students from across the region were invited to show off their creative skills by utilising recycled materials to adhere to the brief ‘turning junk into art’ to create sculptures from junk. It was great to see what the students came up with on the day and the talent they showcased. The students used their imagination to turn everyday items that would otherwise end up in the bin or in the recycling and repurpose them with creativity.
Abacus were proud to donate the prizes to both the senior and junior winners, presented by Roddy on the day, which will be used by the young artists to produce even more outstanding pieces. A huge well done to all the students involved!

Young Artist of the Year Competition
Also taking place on the same day was the ‘Young Artist of the Year’ which is one of Warrington & Vale Royal College’s most beloved annual competitions, committed to finding and celebrating young talent from across the region.
Open to both year 10 and 11 pupils, the competition saw its highest level of uptake with over 80 entries from 14 different schools and colleges around Warrington & Cheshire. Two achievements were up for grabs: Young Digital Artist of the Year and Young Creative Artist of the Year, and Abacus were thrilled to supply the two prizes available, a state-of-the-art Wacom Tablet and an essential artist’s kit worth around £70.
Abacus were impressed by the professionalism and high standards that came from all involved in the competition. A massive congratulations to both the winners Tom & Carys, Abacus can’t wait to see what they create in the future.
