Casting Resins & Catalysts
Create beautiful casts by simply following these instructions:
Pour resin into mixing container and allow air bubbles to escape. Add the required amount of hardener (2mls of hardener to 100g of resin- 20mls per kilo). Pour the resin into the mould to form the first layers and leave to set. After about 30 minutes the resin will have turned to jelly-like consistency. Place item to be embedded on the base layer. Prepare additional clear casting resin as above and pour into mould covering the item to be embedded. (if the item is large it is better to embed with several layers allowing each time to semi-cure before the next is added.) After the mould is full, cover with a sheet of cellophane. Leave to set. When set it can br removed from the mould.
If the model is still tacky it can usually be removed using washing up liquid. Finally Polish to provide glass-like finish.
